Review
Splice is a sci-fi/horror film, although, there are few scary parts in the movie. The special effects are impressive once they have an actress step into the role of "Dren." The film does a good job of making the viewer feel compassion for the spliced creature. However, that makes the film have some long periods without any scary scenes and takes away from the "horror" aspect of the movie. Also, this movie has one of the most disturbing sex scenes in recent memory. This film had some great potential, but fell to being mediocre. Perhaps, if the trailer would not have sold the movie as a high-paced thriller, viewers may have been a little less disappointed.

ReviewIf you liked Predator or Alien vs. Predator or any of those movies, you will like this one. Sometimes a movie will come out with hype around it due to the previous installments. This movie does not really disappoint in comparison to some other horrible films that have attempted to ruin a film's legacy. The cast is pretty well put together. Some might think Topher Grace does not belong, but he fits well. It is loosely tied to the original starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, and is closer to a sequel than Predator 2 in a lot of people's opinions. This movie should be recommended to anyone of the Predator series, or sci-fi films in general. Die hard fans of the original will still stand by the 1987 film.
